Growing form

Annual herb.

Size

5–20 cm high.

Stem

The stem is erect, typically branched starting at the base. The stem is covered with uncinate hairs.

Leaf

The veins on the underside of the leaves are covered with uncinate hairs.

Flower

The proximal flowers are bracteate. The pedicels are notably shorter than the calyx, erect even in the fruiting phase and partially covered with patent hairs. The calyx is narrow-lobed, about 4 mm long in the fruiting phase and closed, and the uncinate hairs at the base of the calyx are partially retrorse. The corolla is n. 1–1.5 mm wide, funnel-shaped and light blue.

Fruit and seed

The mericarps are 1.5 mm long, brown and angular.
