Leaf

Alternate or sub-opposite arrangement. Simple, glossy, remotely toothed along the margin, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, apex pointed, base rounded.

Flower

Small, yellowish-green, in axillary cymes. Calyx 5-lobed, petals 5.

Fruit and seed

Fruit an obovoid drupe, turning from green to yellow and purplish-black when ripe. Seed woody, surrounded by fleshy pulp.
