Leaf

 Leaves usually appear in whorls of three around the stem. Oblong to lance-shaped, toothed, rough-textured and dark green.

Flower

Color lavender, pink or white. Tiny, 5-lobed, appear in dense flattened hemispherical clusters.

Fruit and seed

Dark purple popcorn-like fruits in a cluster. Few seeds (1-5) per fruit.
