Growing form

Perennial, stoloniferous herb.

Size

8–15 cm high.

Stem

The stem is simple and glabrous.

Leaf

There are two opposite leaves on the stem and at the base of the stem. The lamina of basal leaves are ternate or biternate. The lamina of the cauline leaves is three-cleft or three-parted. The lobes are lobed or coarsely serrate.

Flower

The inflorescence is typically a five-flowered, dense glomerule. The flowers are bisexual. The calyx is two- or three-lobed. The corolla is four- or five-lobed, rotate, greenish yellow, and 6–8 mm wide. The flowers are fragrant.

Fruit and seed

The fruit is a berry-like, greenish and 5 mm long. The infructescence arcs down to the ground when it is mature.
