Growing form

Perennial herb that grows in fascicles.

Size

30–90 cm high.

Stem

The stem is erect, rigid and glabrous.

Leaf

The leaves are opposite and short-petiolate. The lamina is ovate – narrowly ovate, rounded or cordate at the base, and entire.

Flower

The inflorescence is an umbelliform raceme. The flowers are bisexual. The calyx and corolla are five-leaved and connate. The corolla is rotate, white and 10 mm wide. The corona is five-lobed. The flowers have an unpleasant odor.

Fruit and seed

The fruit is a fusiform, glabrous, about 5 cm long follicle. The follicles are in pairs.
