Growing form
Perennial, rhizomatous herb.
Size
5–30 cm high.
Stem
The stems are procumbent or ascending, reddish and covered with patent hairs.
Leaf
The lamina is ternate. Occasionally, the lamina of basal leaves is quinate. The leaflets are lanceolate or obovate, toothed on the apical side, glabrate above and pubescent beneath.
Flower
The inflorescence is narrow and lax panicle with 3–10 flowers. The calyx and corolla are five-leaved. The flower is subtended by an epicalyx. The petals are 8–10 mm long, yellow, longer than the sepals and there is an orange dot at the base of a petal.
Fruit and seed
The fruit is a short-beaked achene.
