Growing form
Dwarf-shrub.
Size
15–50(–70)cm high.
Stem
The stem is erect, heavily branched. Young branches are green and angular. Old branches are brown and terete.
Leaf
The leaf arrangement is spiral. The lamina is 8–25 mm long, simple, elliptic, acute, serrate and green. Leaves abscise in autumn.
Flower
The solitary flowers (4–7 mm) are at leaf axils. The corolla is broad-urceolate and greenish-yellow or reddish.
Fruit and seed
The fruit is a spherical, dark blue and typically blue-glaucous berry (6–8 mm).
