Growing form
Dwarf-shrub.
Size
5–30(–50) cm high.
Stem
The stem is terete, pubescent and erect or ascending.
Leaf
The leaves are over-wintering and arranged spirally. The lamina is 8–20 mm long, entire, obovate or elongate, obtuse or moderately acute, coriaceous, green above, light-green below, with dark spots and a revolute margin.
Flower
The inflorescence is a short, dense raceme at the summit. The flowers are bisexual. The corolla is urceolate, four-lobed and white or reddish. The style is long and exceeding the corolla.
Fruit and seed
The fruit is a spherical, red, fleshy, sour berry (5–8 mm).
