Growing form
Dwarf-shrub.
Size
10–30 cm long.
Stem
The stem is filamentous, procumbent and creeping on the ground surface.
Leaf
The leaves are evergreen and arranged spirally along the stem. The lamina is (3–8 mm x 1–2.5 mm) simple, deltoid-ovate, green and lustrous above, nearly white beneath, and the margin is revolute.
Flower
The flowers are bisexual and solitary at the summits of branches. The pedicel is glabrous. The corolla is four-lobed, rotate and red. The corolla lobes are long and retrorse.
Fruit and seed
The fruit is a spherical, dark red berry (5–8 mm).
