Sphagnum warnstorfii

Description

Peat moss species. Forms low hummocks or loose carpets. Small and slender, from green (in shade) to red-green to dark purplish red in open situations. Capitulum flat and stellate, facicles usually with 3–4 branches, with ovate to lanceolate leaves arranged in five rows.
