Origin and general distribution
Krysanteemin kitukasvuviroidia todettiin ensimmäisen kerran Yhdysvalloissa, jossa se aiheutti valtavan epidemian vuonna 1947. Tautia esiintyy jokaisessa maanosassa, myös Euroopassa.
Suomesta sitä ei ole vielä todettu.
