Origin and general distribution
Intianjauhokoisa on levinnyt ympäri maapallon. Se on paha tuholainen lämpimien maiden hedelmänjalostusteollisuudessa. Suomessa laji on tuonninvarainen. Se kulkeutuu kuivattujen hedelmien, manteleiden ja muiden pähkinöiden, makeistuotteiden ja rohtojen kanssa. Intianjauhokoisa ei kestä Suomessa talvea kylmillään olevissa varastoissa, vaikka sen kyky sietää kylmää lyhyen aikaa onkin melko hyvä.
