Oxytelus ruthenus Semionenkov & Gildenkov, 2022 korvaa lajin Oxytelus assingi Schülke, 2012, jonka julkaistu esiintyminen Suomessa perustui virhemääritykseen. Oxytelus ruthenus hyväksyttiin Suomen lajiluetteloon 3 yksilön perusteella, (http://id.luomus.fi/GAD.836, http://id.luomus.fi/GAD.837 & http://id.luomus.fi/GAC.36753) ja Oxytelus assingi poistettiin luettelosta 5.4.2023 tarkastustyöryhmän kokouksessa. Oxytelus ruthenus kuvattiin Venäjältä ja sitä esiintyy Pohjois-Suomessa Sompion Lapissa ja Kuusamossa. Laji on tavattu myös Ruotsista.
