Origin and general distribution
The natural distribution area of the northern leopard frog is in the United States and Canada. The habitats are wide-ranging: the species can be found in swamps, wet grasslands, ponds and slow-flowing bodies of water in both open, wooded and urban areas. The northern leopard frog population is classified as vibrant (LC), but in the North America the population has declined since about 1970s.
The chart shows temporal distribution of the observations, which is not the same as population increase/decrease.
