Distribution in Finland
Suomessa kultasakaalia on tavattu ensimmäisen kerran vuonna 2018 Kajaanista. Sen jälkeen laji on havaittu esimerkiksi vuonna 2019 Rautavaaralla ja vuonna 2022 Sodankylässä ammuttiin aikuinen uros.
Origin and general distribution
Kultasakaali on kotoisin Kaakkois-Euroopasta, Lähi-idästä ja Etelä-Aasiasta, mutta sen levinneisyys on viime vuosikymmeninä laajentunut pohjoisemmas.
