Origin and general distribution

Most of the over 700 species of Eucalyptus are native to Australia, a very small number are found in adjacent areas of New Guinea and Indonesia, and one species ranges north to the Philippines. Eucalypts are cultivated worldwide in tropical and subtropical climates.
