Kaljukissankäpälä on arktinen, amfiatlanttinen kasvi, jonka läntisin kasvupaikka on Grönlannissa. Euroopassa kaljukissankäpälää kasvaa harvinaisena Norjassa Tromsissa, Ruotsissa Tornion Lapissa ja Suomessa Enontekiöllä Käsivarren ylhiötuntureilla Isolta-Mallalta Haltille.
