Growing form

Annual herb.

Size

5–20 cm high.

Stem

The stem is typically branched starting from the base.

Leaf

The underside of the leaves is covered with straight hairs.

Flower

All the flowers are ebracteate. The pedicels are covered with tightly appressed hairs. After flowering, the pedicels are about as long as the calyx and spreading. The calyx is narrow-lobed, 4 mm long in the fruiting phase and typically open. The calyx and mericarps easily drop off. At the base of the calyx, there are spreading, abruptly uncinate hairs and few straight hairs. The calyx abcises with the fruits. The corolla is 1–2 mm wide and funnel-shaped.

Fruit and seed

The mericarps are 1.2 mm long and light-brown.
