Origin and general distribution

Ruskosammakko on Suomen ja koko Euroopan laajimmalle levinnyt ja monilla alueilla yleisin sammakkoeläinlaji. Sitä tavataan kaikkialla maassamme ja levinneisyys jatkuu aina Jäämerelle saakka. Runsaslukuisin ruskosammakko on Etelä- ja Keski-Suomessa, Lapissa se on harvalukuisempi.
