Suomessa pallovesikirppu on havaittu Hailuodossa hyvin matalissa lammissa 1960-luvulla. Havaintoja on myös Tornion seudulta kalanviljelylammikosta sekä pohjoisimmasta Norjasta Suomen rajan tuntumasta. Kokonaislevinneisyys on holarktinen ja ulottuu Euraasiasta Pohjois-Amerikkaan.
