Origin and general distribution

Kivikkokimalainen on yleinen lähes kaikkialla Euroopassa Välimereltä napapiirille asti ja viime vuosina löytöjä on tehty napapiirin pohjoispuolellakin; lajia sitä tavataan myös Marokossa. Itään päin mentäessä havaintoja on Etelä-Uralilta asti.
