Täpläsorjoampiaista tavataan lähes koko Keski- ja Pohjois-Euroopassa. Levinneisyysalue jatkuu itään Turkin, Lähi-Idän ja Venäjän eteläosien kautta Luoteis-Kiinaan ja Kashmiriin.
