Distribution in Finland
Esiintynyt 1800-luvulla ja 1900-luvun alkupuolella Etelä- ja Keski-Suomessa, mutta ollut kateissa 1950-luvulta lähtien, kunnes yksittäisiä ampiaisia löytyi 2010-luvulla uudelleen Lappeenrannasta.
Origin and general distribution
Lajista on Pohjoismaissa Suomen lisäksi vanhoja löytöjä vain Ruotsista. Ruokosorjoampiaista tavataan Keski- ja Pohjois-Euroopassa, mistä levinneisyysalue jatkuu itään läpi Venäjän aina Tyynenmeren rannikolle asti.
