Distribution in Finland
Laji on levinnyt laajasti Etelä- ja Keski-Suomeen. Pohjoisimmat esiintymät Oulun seudulla ja Kainuussa ovat pitkälti sisätiloissa.
Origin and general distribution
Oletettavasti alkuperältään länsipalearktinen, Välimeren ympäristössä esiintynyt laji. Yleislevinneisyys on nykyisin kosmopoliitti. Kulkeutunut ihmisen mukana pitkin maapalloa ja vakiintunut pohjoisille ja temperaattisille alueille. Laji ei pysty lisääntymään tehokkaasti tropiikissa liian lämpimissä olosuhteissa.
