Origin and general distribution
Harlekiinipirkko on peräisin Itä-Aasisassa. Euroopassa se on laajalle levinnyt. Sitä on käytetty klassisessa biologisessa torjunnassa Portugalissa, Kreikassa, Ukrainassa, Tunisiassa ja Italiassa. Suomessa lajista on tehty yksittäisiä havaintoja 2010-luvulla.
