Distribution in Finland
Laj on hyvin harvinainen ja satunnainen Suomessa. Esiintyy vain sisätiloissa, ei talvehdi Suomen luonnossa.
Origin and general distribution
Ryijykuoriainen esiintyy laajasti Euroopassa luonnonvaraisena, mutta Pohjoismaissa sitä tavataan vain satunnaisesti sisätiloista. Se on levinnyt lähes koko palearktiselle vyöhykkeelle aivan pohjoisimpia alueita lukuunottamatta; Keski- ja Etelä Euroopasta, Pohjois-Afrikan ja Lähi-Idän kautta Aasian pohjoisosiin sekä Pohjois-Amerikkaan.
