Origin and general distribution
Palearktinen alue. Sukuun lukeutuu kolme lajia, joista laajimmalle levinnyt on Suomessakin tavattava isotytönkorento (Erythromma najas). Myös kahdella muulla lajilla on laaja, mutta Etelä- ja Keski-Eurooppaan painottuva levinneisyys.
