Pähkinämakadamia – Macadamia integrifolia

Leaves are usually in whorls of 3-6, glossy, narrow-elliptical to oblong, 7-15 cm long. Young leaves have toothed margins while the old ones have smooth margins. Flowers are arranged in up to 30 cm long drooping axillary racemes. Flowers are sweetly fragrant and have four creamy-white 10-15 mm long tepals. Fruit is a hard, woody, globose follicle with a pointed apex containing one or two seeds. The nutshell (endocarp) is the toughest of all nuts.
