Leopardgroda – Lithobates pipiens

The northern leopard frog is quite large in size, individuals may grow up to 11 centimetres tall. Of the northern leopard frog, several colour variations are known, of which the most common ones being green and brown. The undertone of the dorsal side varies from different shades of green to different shades of brown. Characteristic to the dorsal side is round to oval-shaped black patches, typically bordered by a thin pale or pale yellow border. Also, along the dorsal side runs two longitudinal folds/ridges from the back of the eyes and down the back. On the abdomen side, the northern leopard frog is white, pale or light green.
