Långbensgroda – Rana dalmatina

The agile frog is a species very similar to common frog (Rana temporaria) and moor frog (Rana arvalis). It grows to approximately 5 to 9 centimetres tall. The long and strong hind legs allow jumps up to 2 metres long typical of the species, which agile frogs rely on when escaping threatening situations. The species is slender compared to the common frog and the moor frog. The dorsal surface is light brown and there are dark spots on the back and dark stripes on the limbs. Also, the agile frog has dark streaks from the sharp snout to the temples from which the large dark brown spots reach around the external eardrums.
