Leaves are alternate, crowded near the end of branches, pinnate, 20-40 cm long, without stipules, light green, with 2 pairs of glands at the base, otherwise glabrous. Petiole is 2-7 cm long, rachis channelled above. Leaflets are 8-19, alternate near petiole and more or less opposite distally, ovate to lanceolate, sometimes curved, 3.5-10 x 1.2-4 cm, glossy, serrate; apex acuminate; base unequal. Inflorescence is an axillary panicle, up to 30 cm long. Flowers are bisexual or male on same tree, actinomorphic, small, pentamerous, white or pale yellow, slightly sweet scented. Fruit is a 1 (max.2)-seeded drupe, ellipsoidal, 1-2 cm long, greenish, greenish-yellow to yellow or purple when ripe, with a pulpy mesocarp. Seed is ovoid or spherical, with pointed apex.
