Perennial, evergreen, loosely cespitose herb that forms carpet-like stands.

Size

7–18 cm high.

Stem

The stem is erect or ascending, and glabrous.

Leaf

The leaf-arrangement is spiral. The leaves are 3–12 mm long cylindrical, spreading, succulent and typically red.

Flower

The inflorescence is a rather dense umbelliform cyme. The corolla is five-leaved. The petals are 2–4 mm long, white or occasionally pink, and obtuse. The sepals are connate at the base.
